Submarine

The new song. It's called submarine. I think it's a bit more hectic than the last few, and it is certainly faster. Every time I make a song, I try to do something different from what I've done before, I'm not sure if I've entirely achieved that here really, but I'm happy with it regardless.

Also, as I've mentioned on the ol twitter, this is song number 19. I'm nearly at 20, which is ridiculous considering that I tend to make long ass songs. Basically I've got 2 and a half hours of music in just under 5 months. Considering that I have to do this in my spare time, I'd say that's fairly impressive. You could almost finish watching Fellowship of the Ring in that time frame.

Stars

Hello! This song is called Stars. Why? well because that's what Birds Use (apperently).

Since I don't have an interesting enough life to blog about (because I spend all my time hidden in a dark hole chiseling out music), mabye I should start making things up?

Or I could just talk about that time that I fought off the space scorpion invasion on the planet of the Xenonymphos. It's no big deal, it's just the kind of thing that you run into on occasion when you are a traveling intergalactic love-making consultant.

In fact, yeah, no one wants to hear that story, it would be boring.

Terciary

BOOM! Eat new music!

I've decided to go orchestral this week. If that is a good thing or not is something for other people to decide. Personally, I think that it's quite nice.

I've just been thinking lately about Trent Reznor talking about how to make it as a new artist these days. He says to give away pretty much everything that you make to get exposure or something, maybe sell people T-Shirts or something when you get popular enough that people want to buy things from you. Maybe so, but it's funny to me that in music, you need to be rich to make money. If you aren't rich, people won't take you seriously enough to want to pay money for what you do, because obviously if you are rich, you must be popular, which means that other people agree that it's a good idea to give you money.

It's complicated I guess. All I know is that I hate when Trent tries to explain things, because words have never been his strong suit.

Oh well, I suppose that I will continue doing what I am doing until someone sends me money to make me rich, then I can sell music to get rich. In the meantime, the same as always, one song down, time to work on the next. It's a compulsion. But before that, important business happens near the monkey island area...

Because...

Woo! A week without an update and now this?!? What gives?!?!

Well, I had run out of soundcloud updates for last month so when the turnover came around I figured I'd just wait and have a buffer song. So now I'm working on the next one while The People listen to the last one. In a way I am living in the future...TODAY.

I love making synthy tracks, clearly, and would be perfectly happy on a desert island with just a Moog and a cocounut to talk to. I think this track reflects that pretty well. Tons of chorusy Juno, and 303 thanks to D16 Phocyon and the Tal Juno Emulator which is totally free (as in beer) and you just don't have an excuse for not having it. If you don't get it, then I just can't help you.

In other news it is the 4th of July now, so happy that! Personally I live in an area of the country which features none other than the oldest 4th parade ever, which makes it the prime destination for drunk tourists from miles around to drive around in circles for the 3rd and 4th. it took me an hour to drive ten miles today to get home. During the parade, the national guard will direct traffic, as the stop lights panic under the pressure and just become blinking yellow lights.

So yeah, happy 4th...
